Lagon takes NCA meet limelight

SONNY Lagon, the 2001-2002 Stagfighter of the Year and 2003 Cockers of the Year, renewed his winning ways after his Blue Blade Sweaters scored seven wins out of eight matches during last Fridays's finals of the prestigious NCA Grand National Championship 8-Stag Derby hosted by the National Cockers' Association. Lagon said that it was actually a 9-out-of-10 performance because Gerry Ramos, who earned a share of the championship, confirmed to him that two of the stags he fought were also acquired from Blue Blade Farm. Among the top finishers were Rey Briones, Alex Calderon, Willy Villarica, Edu Manzano, Joey & Buboy de los Santos, Boy Lechon & Rene Medina and Bacolod cockers Nani de la Gente & Bobby Doromal.

Congratulations din kay Alex Calderon na dati taga Baltimore. Old timer ito na ang dating kasamahan ay si Ernie at Kevin (all Americans) who used to fight at Joe Ditchoso pit in Accokeek, Maryland.
