cedreq, brunner rh came from allen rh but a little blood was added to it. brunner is good cutter and my trio came from tennessee. brunner is harder to find and for me is better. make sure you got a good brunner.

Cool

Here is the post by tvagamefowl.

Bruner Roundheads.
Cedreq, The Bruner RH are just as Edwin spoke of a make up of the old Allen blood. They where first known as the Cowan Roundheads whom T.K. Bruner fed for as Cowan and Bruner where partners. When Cowan left the sport he left the Roundheads to T.K.Bruner. Bruner felt the round heads needed some infusion of new as they where inbred and started have short and brittle feathers, so Bruner added Gull blood to the roundheads and since was born the Bruner Roundheads.

Bruner's partner later on was the late Willis Holden and Bruner left Holden the Bruner's when he past on. Later on when Holden was getting out he left the Bruner's to a good friend of mine Mr Jack Smith of N.C.. Jack is the orginal half of rooster village and the man responsible for the bruner's that set such a great record at copperstate and in the Islands in the longknife. He is also the man who let Billy Abbott have the bruner's and also is the man who let Larry Morris of W.V. have the Bruner's.I myself have Jack Smith to thank for MY start in the Bruner Roundheads as if it where not for Jack I would not have been able to obtain this family of Roundheads.

The Bruner's that Jack has had for better than 60 years and his friends also come White, yellow, and blue legged. with the blue legg being a throw back to the grist champion blood in the allens.
They are extemely deadly cutters that fight just as smart as any asil you have ever seen, with no wasted motion at all when they dedide to hit it usually is a killing blow. Also I will add if bred close they will come out looking just like pure asils completely in all shape, form and fashion. Hope this helps.

YFIS, tva.

Cedreq, the cross of Brunner RH and Leiper should produce a battlecross with speed, very good cutting, brainy and power. It was very nice for Edward C to share the history of the Brunner RH. We have the Larry Morris Brunner comming white and slate color legs, the Brunner is indeed what was describe in the article. We are crossing the Brunner with the Hugh Norman Lacy RH to duplicate the Billy Abbott strain that won many events in the U.S. and Philippines. The HN Lacy RH is a ring general and has a little more bottom coming from the whitehackle. The round body (like a top - "turumpo") gives it the ability for a quicker turn as compared to a long bodied cock.

Chief,
Did you cross your Brunners to the Lights Out Clarets? or was it with the Lacy's? I got some of the Lights Out White Clarets and I wonder where to cross them good; I would appreciate your comment about the afformentioned line. You can respond thru my e-mail that you can find in my profile.

Thanks,

spang

Cedreq, the Leipers that I have seen were relentless attackers, you have to literarily use your muscle to separate the Leipers. Another breeder's advice that we should consider is: One old breeder shared with me, that too much speed makes the bird attack "through" rather than "into" the opponent. "Through" attackers usually does not fully extend their legs to put away the opponent in one or two buckles. "Into" attackers usually drill their heels deep-into the body of the opponent, thereby providing the fight ending blow. He had observed that "into" attackers have fully extended their legs, hips forward, horizontal body and with all their weight and forward momemtum behind the blow, and at the last moment- drill their heels (tinutukod). He added that he prefers a combination of speed and "into" power which promotes good tempo. Good tempo in most sport is an advantage because it synchronizes all the styles into a controlled attack with a purpose. Good luck.

Chief,
I think I have a problem with my e-mail host; I did not get your reply re: Lights- Out Clarets crossed to Roundheads. You can direct your reply to my other account at bustalinos@aol.com. Thanks again.

Best Regards,

there are a lot of breeders who breeding of TK Bruners bloodline that mostly came from larry morris of west virginia and russel pool breed by mr. william greene ofelm city NC these are supposedly direct from willis holden, they are truly high percentage winning chicken and could withstand closed breeding.
