Roundheads with superb bottom.
In the World Slashers in Araneta Coliseum, I have seen RH's (or so they say) with superb bottom. Some of them with that long shuffle you don't normally see in a RH. Like the ones in the entry of Bulljack Fortaleza, Claude Bautista, Boy Lechon, etc.
The DVD says RH, some say Boston RH. But they don't fight like a true RH's. My question: are they true RH's or are they crosses? or are they true RH's that have been selectively bred to fight that way? Thanks! |

hi pinnacle! what did you outcross with your george lay lacy? also, in your opinion, how do the george lay lacys compare with kelly green's RH's.
thanks and more power to you. |

one was a straight w/ billy abbott's lacy and the other to my possum sweater. both of them have good bottoms but the possum cross has outrageous one. i can't compare w/ kelly's coz i haven't tried that line yet. my rh's are only billy abbott's, george lay's, brunner, boston, dan gray, & ray alexander. they just complement each other in my farm.

Bed,
I dont know what RH's you've seen. But our Rh's whether the Lanier's RH or our very Own Old Cavy Rh's have tremendous amount of bottom. That's why I like Rh's. Whether crossed or pure they got bottom. And they are quick in it's execution. They can shuffle you endlessly in a blink of an eye. I expect the same attribute with other Rh family that are bred well. Best, Victor |

Allens
Danding,
Allen Roundheads have yellow legs. They are not as pretty as the Lacy's, but in my humble opinion, they are the best of the roundhead breeds. -STLito |

Hello everyone.
Nice to see that many are interested in RH fowl. I personally like the Hugh Norman. We have had these since the 70's and have compiled an outstanding win % over the years for us and our friends. they have been shown in all weapons and will make anyone proud. they are the most aggressive fowl I have had the opportunity to be around. They are high stationed quick tempered multi strokers and very accurate cutters. These Fowl and crosses have won many events at Texoma, Mid-America, Red River and Jal New Mexico. I knew Larry Cowan and I would like to say he was a good Rooster man. His fowl came from Hugh Norman as well and Mr. Cowan definitely was a competitor that all could admire. I think that Jr. Belt has the Cowan fowl now and seems like he still has great success. I personally don't know Mr. Belt, but do believe he has kept them going in the right direction. Best of luck to each and everyone. Most Respectfully: Cliff King ![]() |

i have lacey RH cross to sweater mcginnis and cross back to the lacy RH and they have tremendous bottom. they break high almost 6 feet has good fighting style very shifty and shuffle very long when they finish their opponent, whenever they are cornered and when it is needed, they came yellow leg maybe because of the sweater blood in them. :rbounce:

RH
Speaking of bottom:
I can vouch for the Coy Brightnam Roundheads bred by Kelly Green. Some of these will see action in the forthcoming January 2005 WSC. |

As far as I know Kelly Green's rh is the same as George Lay's Rh. Where did you acquire your George Lay RH? |

The RH I own and breed has lots of bottom. There aggresive and lots of speed w/lots of botttom. That's what. I like about the RH cuz of the multiple shuffle.

Re: Roundheads with superb bottom.
a rooster has bottom if he can endure pain, shock, and punishment and maintains his bitter gameness whatever disabling situation he is in. He will continue to fight until his last breath and last beat of his heart. That's bottom.
Mistakenly, if roosters lacks shuffling abilities on a downed opponent, some will refer them to as "lacking in bottom". Last edited by alex-g; November 8th, 2008 at 11:58 PM.. |
