Duck strains developed by SEPALM are being introduced to the Philippine market.

We have a booth at the ongoing Agrilink, in cooperation w/ the French Embassy, SASSO, SEPALM and AP Inocencio Farms (the sole importer for SASSO and SEPALM in the Philippines).

Just like the SASSO chickens, we will be distributing the SEPALM ducks.

Initial day old F1 will be imported in January 2005. SRP of PHP135 per duckling. Soon after, PS will be brought in. Prices may be lowered when we start getting the island born F1s six months after.

This may change the duck industry for the Philippine setting. It will no longer be concentrated in the coastal areas. The French strains to be imported will be chosen for their resistance to Philippine conditions and they do not need WATER around them. We have seen this already in farm visits in France.

Much larger than the ones we are used to seeing around. They are raised for meat and egg purposes.
