Spotlight on Stagfighter of the Year

THE BATTLE for NCA's Stagfighter of the Year comes under the spotlight anew when the fourth leg of the NCA Stagwars 7-Stag Derby gets going today at the Araneta Coliseum. Cockers from Cavite and Las Piñas, bannered by Sen. Ramon Revilla and Councilor Henry Medina, have been invited by hosts Mayor Nene Aguilar and Gerry Ramos to join the showdown of NCA and Ucap bigwigs. Gov. Ito Ynares (Binangonan Balbina Cup) ruled the third leg last Oct. 1 after his entry piled up seven victories. Jessie Viceo of Bulacan (San Rafael) was solo runner-up finisher with 6.5. The NCA Stagfighter of the Year winner will be known after the fifth leg on Oct. 13 and 15 to be hosted by Louie Cua and Tony Tan. The Stagfighter winner is automatically qualified to join the NCA Grand National Championship 8-Stag Derby on Nov. 10, 12 and 14. For inquiries, call 911-3101 and 911-2928.
