Re: Bantay Sabong
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals o ****. Ayon sa kanya “The World Slasher has a permit officially issued by the Games & Amusement Board and in the Philipippines, we have more cockpits than churches”. |

BANTAY-SABONG :
Sama-sama tayong mag-BANTAY-SABONG Last edited by HATAWPINOY : February 4th, 2008 at 07:30 AM. |

Re: Bantay Sabong
“Despite the words “humane society” on its letterhead, the Humane Society of the United States (****) is not affiliated with your local animal shelter. Despite the omnipresent dogs and cats in its fundraising materials, it’s not an organization that runs spay/neuter programs or takes in stray, neglected, and abused pets. And despite the common image of animal protection agencies as cash-strapped organizations dedicated to animal welfare, **** has become the wealthiest animal rights organization on earth.”
“HSUS is big, rich, and powerful, a “humane society” in name only. And while most local animal shelters are under-funded and unsung, **** has accumulated $113 million in assets and built a recognizable brand by capitalizing on the confusion its very name provokes. This misdirection results in an irony of which most animal lovers are unaware: **** raises enough money to finance animal shelters in every single state, with money to spare, yet it doesn’t operate a single one anywhere. “
“Instead, **** spends millions on programs that seek to economically cripple meat and dairy producers; eliminate the use of animals in biomedical research labs; phase out pet breeding, zoos, and circus animal acts; and demonize hunters as crazed lunatics. **** spends $2 million each year on travel expenses alone, just keeping its multi-national agenda going. “
Last edited by HATAWPINOY : February 4th, 2008 at 07:32 AM. |

Re: Bantay Sabong
This article was written by Rolando S. Luzong in March 29, 2005 and was published in Peoples Tonight & Bandera tabloid
WANSAPANATAYM
You cockers out there, if you want cockfighting to continue in this land of ours, be on guard for what your children watch on television these days. I am talking about the children fantasy program Wansapanataym, shown every Sunday in ABS-CBN Channel 2.
It’s very obvious that the hands and the resources of the HSPCA or the Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are very much responsible for some of the show’s episode or could it be that the writers are plainly against cockfighting and gamefowl breeding.
One time I already wrote about Wansapanataym when they came out with an episode wherein the story was about a boy whose father is a cocker. A “fairy-godmanok” appeared to him and regularly visited the boy to tell him about the alleged sad plight of the roosters and that he (the boy) should convince his father to stop fighting roosters.
Last Sunday, I was a little bit satisfied in the beginning of the program, because the story was about those who catch and fight spiders, because I am also convinced that spiders should be left alone because they serve a purpose in the circle of life in the wild and unlike the roosters, spiders are not bred and propagated by men. But then, midway into the program, the leading man who was beaten by a spider turned into a corny Spiderman who swings by his web. His first super-deed was dropping in the midst of cockers sparing their roosters. The superhero kuno who’s name was Gagambling grabbed one of the roosters in its tail and declared, “Tama na ang sugal, ‘wag na ninyong paglabanin ang mga manok”, sarap batukan.
In another sequence, the guy swooped down on children playing with spiders and stunned them with his webs. He made the children promise that they will not play with spiders again. I was waiting for Gagambling to barge in to the casinos, jueteng joints and other gambling dens that are open secrets around the country, but he never did.
Whoever writes for Wansapanataym stories that are anti-cockfighting are clearly innocent of the number of families and the millions of children that have food in their tables and are able to go to school because of their income from cockfighting and gamefowl breeding. We are aware how the HSPCA uses their resources and their power in the United States. Here, they know that they won’t be able to do anything anymore with the people involved in sabong at the moment, but, they think they might be able to lessen or eradicate the next generation of would-be cockfighters. To hell with you HSPCA, you will never win in the Philippines. And that’s for sure. |

Last edited by EXODIA : February 4th, 2008 at 01:03 PM. |

Re: Bantay Sabong
And what is Batay Sabong without the tireless enthusiasm and energy of Princess Naldo keeper of the Zamboanga White and the killer sandwich?
We enjoin everyone to get actively involved because these "well intentioned" albeit misled malefic souls will will not go for the fastest kill but are in it for the "basahan". Let us not forget that even during Abraham Lincoln's time, they tried to put a stop to sabong which led good ol abe to profess: "as long as the almighty has permitted intelligent men, created in his likeness to fight in public and kill each other while the world looks on approvingly, its not for me to deprive the chickens of the same privilege" Well TWO HUNDRED (count it) years give or take, they have finally done it!! I just wish that those "well intentioned individuals", who have so much puissance, can redirect all that to alleviating the poor and hungry of this world! The **** here say that sabong teaches the kids to gamble (jenelyn tagasa, spokesperson of PETAPhil.). I say what is your source? I am third generation sabungero and yet I do not gamble! I bet only 1000 just so my companions feel that I believe in my gamefowl. rarely do I bet on other's gamefowl. My children will, inshallah, be sabungero's as well. Let us focus on the positive aspects of sabungeros because THEY will focus on the negatives. Put your best foot forward when ever in public and show the world that we aint uneducated slobberin gamblin drunkards an drug addicts like em folks thar yonder up in them thar hills...aint that right Jed! hic! pass me that jug o shine bubba! which is how they depicted our kasabong in north amerika among other things! Register and be ACTIVE! Sali na kayo!! Makilahok sa tunay na WSD!!! Last edited by boolick : February 4th, 2008 at 03:15 PM. |

Re: Bantay Sabong
Sir, i'm just a newly member of this site but i would like to give my suggestion or comments on the said **** who are anti-sabong. Sir, maybe there are many congressmen or law makers who are member or active in sabong so why not to let this problem reach them also so they can make some actions also not to let the sabong here in our country be like in the America. Because whta i know is that this sabong is a sport and just a sport but a special animal sport. Sir, i suggest that maybe we say to the **** or the people who are using **** as there tool to have a rally or protest on sabong to stop attacking sabong because some people or many people are living in this kind of sport like breeding and others which they are not actually going to sabong but only to selling their products to other people. |
