I have a hen that is bloated /very swollen from the end of the keel bone up to her vent, this area look's blue-ish in color, she eat's and drink's. I know she is sick! what can this be? Her droppings are sticking to her right below the vent area ......any idea's

It would be best if you send me a picture of the vent area without any feathers to have a good assessment of that affected area. The mere fact that the tissue underlying the event area is bluish in color, this indicates that it is already cyanotic. Meaning to say, it is a chronic infection. If it involves the reproductive organ or digestive tract, it would require an exploratory examination. Hope you can seek a veterinarian as soon as possible to do the procedure and save your precious hen.

i got a hen like that to,all we do is clean the vent everyday.its still laying eggs,but we use other native hens to sit the eggs.goodluck
