Re: Break Beak
I also need some advice from our fellow cockers regarding this broken beak.Pls. help us on how to administer this. Do we have to leave it until it grow? What some medication should we give? We need some guidance from our kind Doc Ted here, in order for us to render the correct administration to this problem. my rooster suffers this broken beak after one other rooster loose from its scratch pen. Thanks.

broken beak is seldom cause by using feeding pot which is not made of clay.. you can maintain its normal beak by using claypot for their feed.. goodluck! |

Re: Break Beak
I use a nail cutter to trim beaks on chicks and hens for an anti pick.....As for cocks and stags some times the top part splits during a spar or accidental fight...I trim sometimes almost as far as the lower beak..Just a little bit off ..They eventualy gro back unless it was serious then you got a chance of them having an off bite..From birth chicks has a lil tooth on the tip of the beaks..Clip as little back so they can still eat...Don't go far back before they bleed....Oh all the clipping is done only on the top beak..If it hurts them stop because they'll let you know...They make a certain sound.... I never trim bottom....Oh not yet i mean ...That is from my past experience.. I wanna hear from other breeders experiences so I can learn more and put in my notes....... |
