Re: grains mixture..

Since availability of the individual grains listed in my keep is a big problem in your area.. i suggest you use the MULTI-GRAIN conditioner of thunderbird or sagupaan. From this 1 kg ready mix pack...you add (200 grams) whole corn and (200 grams) red wheat(trigo). The total weight of this concentrate mixture is 1kg. & 400 grams.

modified grain mixture------8 parts
conditioning pellets----------2 parts

Then from this mixture, you add the other ingredients listed in the book and approaching your 18th day just follow the cabo-loading method till fight day.

Re: grains mixture..

I have spoken to your kumpare and was able to make some modifications based on what is available in your area....But if you think that nagkakasapola sila, increase the jockey oats and lessen the corn. He will have to call me every 2 weeks to give me his input on the feel of the chickens. If necessary, then adjustments can be made.

Doc, when we say "parts" what is the exact equivalent of this? like for example we condition 5 cocks only.

Smile Re: grains mixture..

i just post it, i've learned it from a trusted breeder in San Pablo Laguna

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ingmixture.jpg

Sir mundray,

If you are going to condition 5 heads only and you are giving 2 table spoons each head
you must mix the feeds by 8 parts (spoon) of grains and 2 parts (spoon) of pellets plus additives. hope you understand... keep on cocking...

I suggest that you fast him for a day, to make him completely empty (gut-empty).
The following day, feed only half the amount of his regular ration. Adding more pellets (60%) in proportion to his grain (40%) mixture will lessen their effort to digest.
It is best to administer a metabolic stimulant like>Coforta ( Inject IM 1cc once a day for 5 consecutive days).

Adding lactobacilli as a supplement can also promote good digestion.

Provide water and stone grits at all times.

When it comes to the ripening process of a grain, whole corn in particular, has more "intact nutrients" compared to crack corn.
What we need to understand is that a number of key nutrients are lost during the drying process and the length of time it was stored.
Remember that Corn gives them that needed SNAP on fight day and it is for this reason why we need to be very meticulous as to the quality and freshness of the grains that we give to our fowls.

Red trigo (red wheat) is abundant in Manila.
Try visiting Farmbreed or Progressive Supply.

If you want to be meticulous on your feeding???you would go out of your way, just to get the right grains for your chickens.
