Gd pm doc. We're planning to participate in a derby in metro mla by the end of this month.prior to that date, we're also competing here in our hometown in Bicol, thats exactly two days before the fight in mla.we agreed that we'll just go to mla by plane a day before the fight, say fight day is tuesday, we'll be arriving monday morning, 10AM plus an hour of roadtrip.Since this is our 1st time to travel our fightingcocks by plane, may I ask for your opinion if is it ok, also your advice regarding my dilemma.Thank you and more power.

Re: By Plane

March 13-07 Dear Bolay, travel by plane and fight i 2 days. your subjecting your birds in too much stress also what part of Bicol region are you comming from humidity and moisture can affect the performance of your birds. Our birds we ship them the Copper State before it was close down 7 to 10 days. Also bring your own water and feeds cause fighting cocks are very sensitive to change. Good luck.Bien31

Traveling by Plane

Since it is considered a long haul, bringing them 2 days before the fight will give them ample time to adjust & recover.

Tips on traveling them by plane:
  • It is more comfortable to travel in an early morning flight like 4-5am rather than 10am since it would be hot by noon.
  • Put a lot of fresh banana leaves inside the box.
  • Be sure to travel them empty because digestion is hampered whenever they are in transit.
  • It is a must to bring in your own water & feed.
  • To ensure that they will be placed in a well-ventilated area inside the cargo section of the plane, it is advantageous to check- in together with your chickens as the last passenger because of the airline procedure wherein 'the last passenger gets his luggage first'.

Re: By Plane

To all members who knew my father:

My name is Frank and I am bien1931's oldest son. It is with a heavy heart and deepest regret that I posting this.....my father passed away on December 27th of 2007. I check his emails from time to time just so I can inform his email buddies of his passing.

I am posting this link so that those of you who knew him can post a few words of remembrance if you wish to.

Sincerely,
Frank Santa-Teresa
