40th Anniversary of Candelaria Derbies

The Iloilo Sportsmen Club, Inc. headed by Mr. Chito Tinsay will be staging the 40th anniversary of its Candelaria derbies starting next month. Its main attraction, the 7-cock derby will start on the 29th of January and will end on the 2nd of February. It is then followed by a smalltime 5-cock derby on Feb. 3 -5. Everyone is invited to field an entry or just a spectator.

Here is the details for the 7-cock Candelaria derby:

1. Venue-----------------Iloilo Coliseum, Jaro, Iloilo City
2. Date-------------------Jan. 29 - 30 ===> 1st set of elims (2 cocks each day)
Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 => 2nd set of elims (2cock each day)
Feb. 2 =======> 3-cock finals
3. Entry fee--------------50,000.00 pesos
4. Minimum bet----------22,000.00 pesos
5. Guaranteed Prize-----8 Million pesos
6. Insurance-------------500,000.00 pesos for any 6 points and for each of any 4 straight
win combos.
