TJT Cocking Academy conducts a 3 day farm-based course using the hands-on approach of learning. Everything pertaining to cocking is discussed indepthly from the day they are hatched up to the day when they will be released in the pit.
The first day is focused on learning the basics of breeding; the systematic way of rearing them healthy; and most importantly, they would learn the proven treatment of common poultry diseases. The proper procedure on how to administer the vaccines and the application of various medications and practical remedies are shown to the students. The uniqueness of the Academy is that we don't engage in product endorsements. Rest assured that the medicines that will be recommended are proven and effective.
The second day is all about conditioning which will be discussed in detail by the course director-Dr. Teddy Tanchanco, through actual demos, on feeding, training, exercise (worktable) including the best medication that will put them ON POINT. We round up the day, with more chicken talk during our cocktails.
Our last day, is focused on "what to do on fight day". To complete the course, we included gaffing lessons, under the supervision of competent gaffing instructors. Late in the afternoon, we have the graduation rites as a culminating activity to allow the students to feel the honor of graduating from our prestigious cocking school. Aside from imparting knowledge, the Academy's main goal is to produce honorable and respectable cockers.

A lot of breeders and hobbyists are now sending their handlers, trainers and even themselves to the Academy because they have realized that proper education will enable them to save time & money in the management and operation of their farm
