I've seen only the last 3 WSD's, this year's production is the best so far, specially w/ the DVD format, very clear ang pic, only if emoy was able to show the scores lalo na sa 3rd day...thank you!!

Id love to buy one copy, but b4 I do, kindly have some comment
about the video quality since it is becoming more expensive
and more sultadas, the my first two series to me are average
and the Bakbakan suck, I hope Emoy n the grp wont be angry with me. a few fights show only relections on the mirror, I hope
they can put the camera above it to get a clear picture and true
live sound of them shuffling.
They focus against the light and showing Meron and Wala, since
the text is better showing it off. I robs more than an hour if you
compute all the fights, less slow motion of the better sultada.
and should take out the less interesting one. Not so clear pics.
I bet they dont edit it good enough and elongated the video to make it 6 VCD.

I hope I wont be dissapointed this time paying P3K.

wsd 2003 dvd contains a lot for fights compared to the previous ones, however, it is not still the complete fights. is it possible to have the complete fights in the future dvds?!

Hi Corp!

With 866 fights on film, that would be physically, and financially, impossible to do.

That's why we chose "the best of the best". We didn't even excpect it to reach 200 fights, but it did

Worth every penny of the $60.00 I paid for it,but I agree with most of the comments that scores should be shown .

The picture is clear, the fights are good, but it would be better if you show the score and if there are commentaries like WS CUP 2001.

i just got my dvd copy from sabong press ,and i only watch disc 1 ,i really like it ,every year is improving,sounds very clear,sana sa susunod ganito rin.

are you talking about 866 fights? does it mean 1732 birds
fought in that Derby, elims up to the finals?
How may entries in all (217) if they all get into the finals?
Amazing, how much is the Prize Money then?

How about showing each cock's parada(center bet) also?It will be more exciting to watch if we know what is at stake.Also for us living away from the P.I. for so long ,we don't know what constitutes a big parada anymore.

My numbers may not be too correct (withdrawall, no fight, no bearing, back-out, no qualify, etc.) . But it's close....

Must have had 40 hours of raw footage that we had to edit down.

The DVD contains the "best of the best" of the derby, In our honest opinion.

We might bring that back if some of our friends are willing to talk for 10 hours.... Man, it's tough!

Thats's just un-ethical. A man's bet;is a man's bet, and that's between themselves.

We cannot do it. It's in "bad taste"' to even ask someone how much he bet... Agree?

I respectfully disagree that showing a participant's parada is unethical.After all in the actual cockpit the paradas are always announced to the public so the kasador can even the bets thru pago.At least that was the practice when I was still active in cockfighting.Also it is not reflective of participant's character or status if he has a lower parada than the other guy.I noticed in one of the fights that Sagupaan(Patrick Antonio)was dehado against a thunderbird entry so I am curious.I watched a video of a big derby in Cebu not too long ago wherin the center bets are shown prior to a fight and I don't think anybody is offended by that.Any comments cockmates?

well i really like to know the center bets but in order for them to get the actual bets is that they will have to assign one person in the pit to monitor it for it is always the diff. that they are announcing. sometimes if the bets are huge then they are all chest out to announce it to the general public and also if how much is the diff. of course that's their joy to let the public know. I think it can be done if they have commentators to announce the bets or the diff. It will really make you feel that your are watching the fight right in the cockpit. for me it is not unethical if done with taste. thanks.

I think the reason why the bets are not shown is to downplay the gambling side of our beloved sport....

Let us be happy that we can still see fights in the Philippines thru the magic of videotape.... Here in the US, cameras of any kind are not allowed inside the pit....Remember, beggars can not be choosers......

I THINK WE CAN COVER UP ALL THE FIGHTS AS LONG ,THEY HAVE EXTRA CAMERA MAN...ITS PHYSICAL STRESS BUT I THINK WE CAN DO IT..ITS ALL FIGHTS COVERAGE...U DONT NEED TO FINANCIALLY SPEND THE COVERAGE ..AS LONG ITS CLEAR, AND CLOSE UP...PLUS COMMENTARY, SHOWING SCORE AND BLOODLINES..OF COURSE THE CENTER BET IF ITS ALRIGHT....U JUST NEED TO ORGANIZE THE CAMERAMEN TO DO IT.

LIKE THE MANDALUYONG COVERAGE EVEN ITS VHS .THE QUALITY IS NOT BAD...

As, for center bets, we won't do it.

Would you go up to Mr. Nene Araneta, Mr. Danding Cojuangco, or Mr. James Chongbian and ask, "umm, excuse me sir, how much did you bet on this fight?" I don't think so... Neither will we. They have more important things on their minds.

Showing or announcing the center bet is for me not necessary. We as cockers should encourage the beauty and prestige of COCKFIGHTING and not the gambling aspects of it.
