Thanks Sandy.

Appreciate the strong show of support. Is that an Annual Membership already?

If you can indulge us; it would help a LOT if you say a little bit about how the Internet in general and Sabong.Net.Ph has affected your business (do they help, by how much? in what way?)... there are Merchants who may be "sitting on the fence" about becoming an Accredited Merchant not realizing the value of Sabong.net.Ph's audience.

There are a lot of sellers who have made a lot of sales through this website, from our early Classified Ads system to the Free Marketplace. We are only hoping that those sellers will return the compliments by supporting us this time around. Like I said, more buyers will be encouraged to purchase because of the Merchant Accreditation.

Webmaster Gerry,

What it mean to me to be part of Sabong.Net.Ph?

I have had internet presence long time before i got into this site, and maybe because of the service and products we offer, we have always been #1 on the search engines.

Due to Sabong.Net.Ph, more than international exposure that we got, was the fact that relationships were built. I accredit that to the forums and the chatroom.

It did help the business a lot, if you were to look at monetary gains. Moreso, the site helped build rapport and the trust w/c I guess is most important in transactions.

With the new features of accreditation, I'm sure buyers will now be more open in dealing around the new marketplace.

Surely some people may say the price is stiff for what they have to offer. They should open their eyes to that fact that if they sell knives, it will be a chain reaction once they are trusted. Buyers will always ask their preferred vendor for referrals and the like, and that may open them to other roads in their business.

Good luck! I sent you an email already for my accreditation. Let me know asap.

Let's start the ball rolling already....

Wink Sabong Market Place

Gerry,

I am glad that this came back and it's guidelines that will help minimize fradaulent transactions between the seller and the buyer.

There are a lot of advertizers out there. There are advertizers that advertize their produce ( i.e. gamefowls, pets, cars, poultry equipments, real estate, etc.) for a long period of time while some advertizers runs it only for a limited time.

Big advertizers that will be charged for 1200pesos/month (or it's equivalent) is minimal for the whole year with their produce etc. that can stay or be sold for a while.

While occassional/seasonal advertizers that will be charged the same is in great disadvantage, as their produce will be sold in a short period of time.

I suggest that the latter will be charged pro-rated (until their produce will be sold) and not the same monthly charges you are asking for all the advertizers.

Thanks.

Arrow It's already pro-rated

Hi,

Isn't the monthly option a pro-rated scheme?

If you only need to advertise for 3 months, then you just need a 3 month contract, as opposed to a 12 month one.

The scheme you are proposing is consignment: (until their produce will be sold)

So we won't charge them until they sell their goods? That's not fair to us. How will we know if and when they sell their goods?

Thanks.

Wink Pro- rated

Sentenciador,

I didn't say that they will not be charged until they sold their produce.

What i'm trying to emphasize is, if they have a monthly contract (that is paid in advanced) and their produce was sold or they stop running their ad before the agreed period, they will be refunded the days or months only they run it rather paying the days or months that they never used.

As what i've said these will have a big discrepancy between big advertizers and small ones.

I think it will just fair enough to advertizers and you.

Just a thought

Sir,
Why dont you pattern after e-bay per transaction? How would you handle dishonest buyer and dishonest seller. Do you have a Hall of Shame corner that surfer can check before entering into a contract of some sort? Just asking. My nickel opinion.

Closed Thread advertisement of minimum charge

Pwede kaya ito? All the necessary documents must also submitted by the advertisers, but ones they posted what they are selling, including the price of their commodities and contact numbers, the administrators will have to close his thread and no one, even the topic starter can post replies anymore. Can the administrators allow this type of advertisement for a minimum charge....

Hi folks,

Sabong can't do the following
* auction like eBay
* per item commission

for the fact that we don't have the staff and resources to monitor and administer an auction site, a license to hold funds in escrow, and facilities to adjudicate disputes.

We shall stick with the Sabong Accredited Merchant as we have initially stipulated.

If you are a businessman, you should be able to understang that there is a cost of sale. Advertising is a cost of sale. Marketing is a cost of sale.

For the longest time, Sabong has been a free venue for a lot of merchants to sell their products. A lot of them have realized good revenue from this website. We are only asking what is fair.

For the seasonal sellers, there is a monthly option.

The parallel in the brick & mortar world is a tiangge plaza. You have to pay to have space in the tiangge so you can sell your wares. The tiange plaza operator doesn't guarantee that you will make a sale, it is your responsibility to make the sale. However, you know that the tiange plaza has a lot of people visiting everyday, and you can see a lot of sellers are busy selling their wares. As a businessman, it is up to you whether you should take up the space in the tiange plaza.

Hope this helps. We have been "free" for a long time, the holiday season is over. Now we mean business.

Again, thanks for your support.

Interested to advertize for a month only but have not finalized everything yet until after the Candelaria derby. How long would it take for the accreditation process to finish? Can I submit my credentials now and pay later when everything's done?

Angry

Hi Bularit,

Salamat sa opinyon mo. Ganyan talaga ang buhay, kanya kanyang opinyon. Pinagmayabang mo pa yung "kabilang site", diretsahan kang tumira samantalang kami eh todo respeto sa sabong online community.

We have a plan for this website. We want to make sure that it will be around for a long time, that is why we need to so something that will create funds to keep the site going.

We are only asking what we think is fair. Merchants have been making money from this site from Day 1. Three years as a free site, since 2000. 2004 calls for a different approach.

This is a democratic forum and WE CAN HANDLE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. PERO bag binastos mo kami ng garapalan eh we can still DO SOMETHING. Because of your attitude, you are the first to be banned in 2004. Good luck at the other site.

Yes, I'm with you guys...to make this website stay in the net..to help and promote common habit to all filipino sabungero. But as you all notice - ALMOST smalltime breeders that make ads on your, others are maybe BUY&SELLers pa! BigBreeder don't need ads anymore - the buyers go directly to there farm!

In short let your PostAds - stay FREE!!! for common interest!

Regards!

Hi E & J,

No free lunch anymore. This website costs time and money to maintain. If sellers can't understand that there is a cost to making a sale, they don't deserve to be in business, they should be employees.

All the other US based cocking sites maintain free classifieds. Gamerooster.com had an auction where membership was just $5 per YEAR (about 200 pesos) to be used to maintain the website. I don't know what the process is now.

$5 per year VS. $200 per year. WOW!

BullBred,

Becoming a merchant is not for everyone. Just like business is not for everyone.

It is the merchants decision if they want to be a Sabong Merchant, they do it because they know that Sabong's audience are real gamefowl enthusiasts who spend money to care for their passion; raising, breeding and fighting gamecocks.

We look up to the other sites as comrades in arms, as peers. We support the US based cockfighting community and their fight to preserve the sport out there.

But our website is independent. We have to transform this website into a viable business if it is to survive and continue to flourish in the years to come.

Bottomline is no more free lunch on our dime. Those who don't like it can take a hike. We will survive. We have a lot of value to offer to the community and we have barely scratched the surface.

We are going to fight this battle. We will assert our right over our website. Photos and posts that circumvent the merchant program will be edited or deleted. Flagrant violators will be banned (we can ban your e-mail, your IP address and even your computer). We have to make sure that the Merchants who pay will get their fair share and not lose them to "pirates".

$20.00/month is too steep a price for small vendors like me I think but it will be my choice if I put an ads so let have some more inquiries .

What info do I need to submit & how to send them, and what could I get for my $20.00 in return, only to be able to post my stuff here or are you going to let me show a sample video?

Hope I won't be banned for asking so many questions .

Thanks.
